There has been a lot of things going on right now. Many Filipino people are experiencing a lot of hardships and difficulties with the current situation we are all facing right now. It can be remembered that one of the biggest stations here in the Philippines, the ABS-CBN network will need to shut down because of the expiration of their franchise renewal.
Unfortunately, it already happened last May 5 as the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) ordered the ABS-CBN to close all of its broadcast operations. It has been one of the most trending topics in social media because a lot of Filipino workers are affected by the said closure. There are about 11,000 employees of ABS-CBN who will be left jobless and they can do nothing about it as they are deprived of their right to support and feed their families.
Most of the Filipino people sympathize with what happened as it was not really good timing for a lot of people to be jobless especially now that we are experiencing a crisis. Some other people commented that there was no one to blame because the station should have done the right thing about their franchise renewal. There were also some rumors that the network had been biased with the news they are airing on their television programs and radio station.
A lot of her fans and supporters admired Angel for supporting her home network and for having care and sympathy to the affected employees. There are also other famous celebrities who disapprove of the closure of the Kapamilya network. They are expressing their support towards the station as they didn’t want the 11,000 employees of ABS-CBN to be jobless especially in this kind of situation.
