“Like Mother, Like Daughter”, Oftentimes you would hear this said to mothers and daughters who look exactly like each other. In every way and manner, some daughters really look like there are their mothers’ “mini-me” version, and many celebrities have daughters who look exactly like them.
For mothers, it is a great pride and excitement to hear that your daughter looks like you, especially if you know for sure that your "anak" inherited the “good genes” from you.
We all know Aiko Melendez. Aiko is a popular veteran actress and also a politician who started her career in the showbiz industry in the late 1980’s. Her strong features and beautiful “mestiza” aura earned her way through the industry and easily became a staple to movies and even soap operas on TV. Because of her outstanding beauty and charisma as well, she gained many fans and followers all over the country. Her popularity in the showbiz industry as an actress also became her ticket in entering the world of politics.
Until now, Aiko is still active in showbiz doing a number of projects and TV appearances. In 2006, Aiko married Martin Jickain and was blessed with a beautiful daughter. Although the marriage also ended in 2010.
Aiko Melendez undoubtingly transferred her good genes to her children who inherited most of her “foreigner” look most especially her youngest "anak", her daughter Mathena Jickain.
