During the ‘90s, there has been a great number of Filipino celebrities who became famous because of their good looks, stunning beauty, and impressive talents. As many actors and actresses tend to have a successful career during these times, some of them just disappeared and left show business because of their personal reasons. But even until today, many of us still admire them and we are hoping for their comeback. One of these famous actresses is G. Toengi.
Giselle Anne "G" Töngi-Walters is an actress, dancer, singer, host, VJ, and model. She was discovered by an agent at a mall at 15 years old and was launched as one of the first members of Star Circle (now Star Magic). Some of the most popular and successful projects she had were “Aryana”, “Istokwa”, and “Luksong Tinik”. She was one of the most in-demand leading ladies before. Her show business career was really a success. But it was in 2000 when she decided to leave the industry for good. Despite the promising future she has in the business, she still tried her luck in Hollywood just to stay away from the Philippine show business industry.
She was able to portray a role in “Saved by the Bell: The Musical” and some other stage play. She also finishes her studies at the Lee Strasberg School of Acting in New York City. She also became a planted fan to the contestants during a challenge in “America's Next Top Model, Cycle 16”. As she leaves show business behind she decided to continue her studies and obtained a master's degree in Non-Profit Organization.
It was in 2005 when she married Tim Walters in a Boracay beach wedding. They are blessed to have two , Kenobi Benjamin, and Sakura Anne Marie. Even though she’s already 42-years-old, her timeless beauty never fades. She also takes care of her body and health that is why she still looks gorgeous on the photos that she usually shares online.
It was just recently when G. Toengi revealed the reason why she really decided to leave show business. In the GMA network’s talk show hosted by Vaness Del Moral, G. Toengi opened up that she just felt that something was not right during those times. She may be experiencing a lot of success in her career but she just really can’t understand why there are a lot of people who experienced poverty and many Filipinos decided to go abroad. She even added that the most important thing for her 20 years ago was to fulfill herself with all the things that she really loved doing. And now she is very happy with the decision she made.
