It was just recently when an amazing old photo of Dr. Jose Rizal went viral on social media. A lot of netizens were surprised because the photo was amazingly stored. Instead of having a black and white color, it is actually colorful. The photo seems to be taken just recently. The photo looks very realistic as well. The Facebook Page named “Kulay Colorization” shared the stunning photos which garnered enormous comments and reactions from a lot of Filipino people. We, Filipinos are known to value our history. Part of our history is our national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal. There has been a lot of books about him. He is one of the most amazing heroes that we had in our country.
His real name is José Protasio Rizal Mercado y Alonso Realonda. He was only 35-years-old when he passed away because of his love for our dear country. He was a Filipino nationalist and polymath during the tail end of the Spanish colonial period in the country. He was an ophthalmologist by profession but he became a writer and a key member of the Filipino Propaganda Movement, which advocated political reforms for the colony under Spain. Some of the novels he wrote are “Noli Me Tangere”, “El Filibusterismo”, and a number of poems and essays.
Every time we look back at old historical photos, we may see black and white images but thanks to Facebook page named Kulay Colorization, because of them we saw a glimpse of what actually the looks of our national hero.
