And even the international singer, Lea Salonga, expressed her views on who should be the next Darna. And a fresh actress was finally chose, Jane de Leon.

And this time, the director will be the one who directed the historical films “Heneral Luna”, “Goyo” and “Quezon”, Jerrold Tarog. He is known for being organized and meticulous to details that is why his previous films have been a hit and it is another reason for movie goers to look forward.

According to Star Cinema, they already lost 140 million pesos on the current production of Darna since the start of its production. It blossomed to this great amount because the management required the commitment of its staff, that despite of the suspension of the production, the staff were still paid. And when they finally come up on their final decision there is no turning back, because if they have considered to continue to produce this film, they will need another 100M pesos to spend, which is very impossible to gain given the current situation of the movie industry and the Philippine economy.
One thing is for sure, as typical of a plot of Filipino films, despite adversities, the heroine will find a way to fly again! What do you think?
